(Problem Area)

As a response to anti-Asian hate sentiment, Kamay's Mission is to tell the stories of heroes from Cambodian and Filipino folklore from the perspective of contemporary SE Asian American artists in the South. Visitors will be able to experience art and culture for free: murals, graphic design art installations supported by augmented reality (AR) technologies, a projection mapping experience on the dancefloor, and DJs.

+ (Role)

I visited the site, conducted research on experience needs, defined key design considerations, co-designed with guest artists (KillaMari, Hella Leah, KaiYoon, Aldrin Banguilan, ToTo-O) developed the AR experience, and performed user testing. I also assisted guest artists during the event.

= Result

An underwater, mystical AR experience that brings artist stickers and festival maps to life. The AR experience not only engages guests with artist works related to Cambodian and Filipino folklore but also offers moments of digital play during the event.
